I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
